Our first Parent Council meeting of the year will take place on Monday 21 September at 6.00pm in Portree High School.
We would encourage all parents and carers to become involved in the Parent Council, which plays a vital role in supporting the school and its fundraising activities. In recent years, attendance and membership have declined, and our Parent Council Chair, Rebecca Langlands, is keen to welcome new members and encourage more parents and carers to take an active role in this important group.
Without an active Parent Council, key community events such as the annual Christmas Fayre, scheduled for early December, may not be able to go ahead.
The Christmas Fayre is an important part of the school's calendar and provides valuable funds that help us subsidise transport and participation costs for a range of activities, including:
Football and shinty competitions
Duke of Edinburgh Award expeditions
Outward Bound courses
Activity days
School bursaries
The support provided by the Parent Council helps ensure that these opportunities remain accessible to as many young people as possible. We hope you will consider coming along to the meeting and helping to make a difference for our pupils.
